"Achieving Our Dreams through Education"
Thank You
Wow! It is hard to believe that December is right around the corner.
Using Data: If we don't know where we are how will we get to where we are going?
Our Overall Academic Goals:
We want to increase the percentage of our proficient students by 10% from our Fall Benchmark to our Spring Benchmarking, according to this assessment while decreasing the number of students who score at risk academically.
When thinking of Data here are some good questions:
What does my classroom look like academically? Are my students learning? Which students are at grade level? Are we meeting students needs? Which students' assessment scores have decreased? Why have they decreased? What can we do to give students what they need in the classroom? What do they need in the classroom? All these questions can be answered by looking at the data.

Reminders
Detention
Detention: Teachers may assign student detention during recess and after school within the following guidelines:
After School Detention
The student/parent must be given at least one day written/phone call notice prior to detention to ensure that transportation can be arranged.
The teacher must log-in the reason for the detention on PowerSchool.
After school detention cannot last after 4:00 pm.
The teacher must personally monitor students during the entire detention.
Recess Detention
If it is a lunch recess detention students must be allowed to eat their lunch.
Detainment: Teachers should not detain students after class for discipline issues that would result in the student being to miss the bus. And after school detention should be used for the upper grades 3-5. Use noon or recess detention within your classroom as an alternative.
Field Trips/Activities
SCHOOL RELATED ACTIVITIES
Staff members planning activities beyond their scheduled class period (guest speakers, visitations, etc.) must submit to the Principal, a student list and specific timelines at least two (2) days in advance. If you have a field trip please communicate with PE, Tech., Lib. Music. Inform the kitchen staff so they have enough time to prepare a sack lunch and are aware that your class will not be eating at the school. Field trips must be scheduled a month in advance to accommodate bus schedules and to obtain drivers. If a student is not able to attend the field trip due to behavioral concerns parents should be notified ahead of time. It is a good practice not to surprise parents with such news. Please arrange for your students to stay with another teacher during the day and provide work for the student.Physical Contact:
