St Luke's Got Talent!
What an afternoon of non-stop entertainment! Congratulations to all Talent Show Performers. The audience were blown away by the level of talent that hit the stage, a lot of hidden talents, variety and originality shone through in each act, which was a delight to see!
Thank you Mrs Cobern and Mr Kirry for organising it; thank you Josie and Mia for being awesome comperes; thank you Mrs L Simmonds for creating an eye-catching backdrop and thank you Mrs Cragg for organising the music. Thank you also to all staff and the many parents who helped out throughout the day. Bravo!
Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to all the students who participated in St Luke’s Athletics Carnival last Friday. To all the children who participated, well done, we were so proud of you for the way you gave your very best and showed tremendous sportsmanship. As an onlooker, I was very proud of you all. A special thank you to Mr Noseda for training the children not only in Physical Education lessons but in his lunch breaks and after school too. Awesome effort by everyone involved!
Interschool Athletics Carnival Friday
We send our best wishes to all the children participating in the Interschool Carnival this Friday. Have fun, work as a team and do your best. We are so proud of you all! Go St Luke’s!!!
Telethon
God Moments
- Working alongside a great team of Advisory Council and P&F members.
- Watching everyone encourage each other during the Athletics Carnival.
- Watching those students that were always going to come near the tail of the field compete in the Athletics Carnival. They didn’t stay home and fake sickness they just carried on through an awkward situation and became a good deal mentally tougher because of the experience. (Well done to parents too)!

MESSAGE FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS
All Souls' Day & Memorial Garden
All Souls' Day is a holy day within the Church, set aside for honouring those who have passed away into eternal life. The day is primarily celebrated in the Catholic Church, but it is also celebrated in the Eastern Orthodox Church and a few other denominations of Christianity. This year at St Luke’s, we will be celebrating as a whole school an All Souls' Day Mass to be held on Thursday, 4th November at 9.30am in the Church. We would like to commemorate those who have passed and offer them up in the mass. Therefore, if you have a loved one who has passed, you are invited to send through a photo and name, and they will be included in the mass for the day. Please send through your photo and name of the person, you wish to be included, to: maura.killalea@cewa.edu.au before Friday the 29th October.
We would also like to introduce our memorial garden which is placed in the school’s prayer garden near the Performing Arts Centre. Families are welcome to donate money that will go towards the maintenance and up keep of the garden and in turn will receive a butterfly. You will have the option to offer a name on the butterfly of someone who has passed away. This name will be added to the butterfly and placed on the wall. Members of the community who have passed may include anyone of any age. As this may be a sensitive topic to some families, is not compulsory, nor necessary. You may only wish to have your loved one remembered in the mass only, and that will be respected. If you wish to nominate a name on a butterfly on the St Luke’s prayer garden wall, please email me direct on the above email address.
BYOD Portal
With this partnership, we are able to offer all students (in any year group) the opportunity to purchase education specific devices for use throughout their studies at a discounted price. The nominated product offered has education discounted Apple iPad pricing along with financing options, extended warranty and accidental damage insurance options. This is to be the most suitable device to be used within the school.
If you would like to bring in your own iPad for the BYOD program, please ensure it is at least a Series 8 with at least 64GB of storage. These need to be dropped off (completely wiped) to the school in Week 8 of this term so that we can enrol them into our JAMF management system. We will aim to have them back to you by the end of that week.
Thank you for your help and assistance with this initiative.
Uniform Shop
If you are wishing to purchase uniforms, please shop in store, or online at: www.tudorschooluniforms.com.au

World Teacher's Day
Australia will celebrate and thank the teaching profession on World Teachers’ Day on Friday 29 October 2021.
Welcome Mrs Hayes!
"Hi I'm Kellie, I am really excited to be spending Term 4 in Kindy Blue and Pre Kindy White. I look forward to getting to know more about St Luke's and meeting as many students and families as I can.
A bit about me, I am a mum to three amazing kids! Holly (12 years old) and Quinten and Lachlan (10 years old). We are an avid football, basketball and netball family. A few of my favourite things are spending time with my family and friends, chocolate, shopping and Christmas 🎄"
If you see Mrs Hayes around make sure you say hello and find out who her favourite football team is! Welcome to our St Luke's community, Kellie!

Thank you to all the people who supported the school Athletics Carnival last Friday. Staff worked long and hard- and being supported by the community is very helpful. A big congratulations to all the sport captains who also did an amazing job on the day! Well done!

Managing Uncertainty
Uncertainty is part of life and yet our brain, which creates our thoughts and feelings, loves certainty and predictability.
The pandemic has created more uncertainty in families, schools and communities than most people can recall in their lifetimes. With no clear end point, more stress and anxiety may well be triggered. In small doses anxiety heightens your sense of focus, giving you an increased level of energy, and increases your chances of managing a potential challenge that has appeared. In large doses, this anxiety is problematic, as it can cause feelings of being overwhelmed and even panicked.

Lost Property
The office continues to get a large amount of lost property each day.
Please make sure your child's school clothing, lunch boxes, drink bottles and containers are clearly labelled. It is very difficult to return these items to the student when it is not labelled.- Unlabelled Lunch boxes, containers & drink bottles are kept for 1 week then thrown out.
- All items that come to the office with a name are returned to the student through the class teacher.
P&F NEWS
Athletics Carnival
What an incredibly successful Athletics Carnival we all experienced last Friday!
The cake stall treats were delicious, and the sausages were a hit!
Thank you to the Pre-Primary volunteers for organizing the cake stall and thanks also to the volunteers from the Fathering Group who cooked up the snags. Everyone really enjoyed the fun community atmosphere and the St Luke’s students did not let the heat hold them back as they competed in their events.
Disco
This Friday evening bring your dancing shoes and come down;
- 4.30pm-6pm for the Kindy-Year 2 session
- 6:30pm-8pm for the Year 3 - 6 session.
If your child has not got a ticket, there will be some sold at the door. $10 for entry, treats, sausage sizzle and drink. Be sure to come and see who the fancy DJ is!
Please note: parents will need to come and personally collect their children as no students will be allowed to leave the undercover area to meet you in the car park/drive through bays.
