Duet
Ron Koertge
Betsy knows very well what her boyfriend, Winston, wants. But she is not willing to give in.
"Betsy, you've got to sleep with me. I'm going crazy."
Why is there so much pressure?
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't tease you. I just get tired of being so serious about it all the time. And it's always the same; you want to, I don't.
I just like being intact. Maybe that's all there is to it."
How should Winston handle this?
Winston and Betsy
"Winston?"
"I'm here, I'm here. You want to know if I could make love to a desirable girl I wasn't in love with."
"Right."
"Probably. Okay, probably."
Patsy and Winston
"'Of one's own,'" she said deliberately. "Where one can do what one wants."
"Patsy," I panted. "I can't."
"I can't remember the last time a guy turned me down for anything."
"I didn't turn you down, Patsy. I turned it down."
Winston and Betsy
"I'm afraid to kiss you. I'm afraid I won't be as good as Patsy."
"Let's try."
It was great. Naturally. Like it always was. But different, too. Sweeter, maybe. Deeper somehow."
