Log on to www.txsno-region19.org . Under Spring 2018 Conference, click on link to registration and you will be taken to the Eventbrite Website for registration. You will be able to pay with credit card, check or district PO. Follow directions on the registration page.
If your school will be paying by PO, please register as soon as possible and choose "Pay by Invoice" as your payment. You do not have to wait until the PO has been approved to register.
At the door registration:
Registration will be accepted at the door for a registration fee of $75
NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED DUE TO CANCELLATION OR “NO SHOW”
Continuing Nursing Education Credits
The conference has been approved for 3.6 CNE credits.
Evaluations and CNE Certificates of Completion
To receive CNE credit for this conference, participants will need to attend the entire conference, no partial credit will be given. Participants will also need to complete conference session evaluations online. Upon completion of the evaluation process, attendees will be awarded a Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Certificate of Successful Completion.
Registered participants will receive an email from Express Evaluations with instructions about the online evaluation process. Instructions will also be given at the conference.
Purpose
The desired outcome of the Conference is that Registered Nurses (RN) practicing in the specialty of school nursing, will have increased knowledge of the most current evidence based guidelines and standards for the assessment and management of chronic and acute sleep related problems and common health complaints in the school aged population.
Kristyna M. Hartse, Ph.D.
Kristyna M. Hartse, Ph.D. is a Clinical Consultant at Sun City Sleep Center working with Genevieve Belgrave, M.D. She was previously the Clinical Director of Sonno Sleep Centers El Paso East and El Paso West as well as Sonno Sleep Centers in Las Cruces and Deming, New Mexico. She is a board certified sleep specialist and by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) and a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). She is also a registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT), a registered sleep technologist (RST), and certified in clinical sleep health (CCSH).
Dr. Hartse was previously the Clinical Director of the Sleep Center at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She has held similar positions at Sleep Consultants in Ft. Worth Texas and at Spring Branch Medical Center in Houston Texas. For 14 years she was the Director of the Sleep Center at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri where she also held academic appointments in the Departments of Psychiatry and Otolaryngology.
She has extensive experience in teaching and research in clinical sleep disorders, and she has published book chapters, papers, and abstracts on various topics in sleep ranging from sleep in reptiles and insects to human sleep disorders.
Dr. Hartse received both her B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. She has appeared on local and national television, radio, and print media, and she has been a guest on the Oprah Winfrey show.
She has been active in the Standards of Practice Committee for the AASM as a board examiner in administering the credentialing examination for sleep specialists, she has been a site visitor for the Academy in accrediting new Sleep Disorders Centers, and she is currently a reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine and contributes patient information articles to the American Sleep Association.
Genevieve M. Belgrave, M.D.
Genevieve M. Belgrave, MD is a practicing Internist in El Paso, TX. at Sun City Sleep Center. Dr. Belgrave graduated from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1981 and has been in practice for 37 years. She completed a residency at St Michael's Medical Center.
Dr. Belgrave is a Diplomat, American Board of Medical Specialties- Internal Medicine/ Sleep Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
David Wardy, DC
David Wardy, MD uses a "whole person approach" when taking care of his patients. By combining the very best hands-on-technique and state of the art physiotherapy procedures, Dr. Wardy is able to help patients accelerate and/or maintain their journey to good health. He and his wife practice at Wardy Wellness Chiropractic in West El Paso.
