Halloween/Fall Celebrations
High-Five Friday!
Thank you to our Glenview First Responders for everything they do!
Time to Celebrate!
Halloween is quickly approaching! This year we will celebrate with fabulous Fall/Halloween classroom parties. Our wonderful PTA will provide a nut-free snack (orange sherbert) for all students. Our Room Parents will plan exciting fall-themed activities for each classroom. We will not have a parade as students will show off their costumes to each other throughout the day! Please note if your child is not wearing a costume, they can wear their Henking Spirit Wear!
While dressing up and celebrating the holiday provide opportunities for fun and community building, they can also create stressful situations for students. In order to be sensitive to all please know that COSTUMES ARE OPTIONAL. Our goal is to create a positive learning environment where all students, staff, and families feel a sense of belonging. In that spirit, we ask that you take care to ensure that your child’s costume choice does not portray a stereotypical image of any group of people or culture, or be offensive to any one racial, ethnic or religious group. We appreciate you being proactive with your child in making thoughtful costume choices.
Other costume reminders:
Masks are NOT allowed for safety reasons.
Props should be limited to no more than one.
Please note that toy weapons are NOT allowed.
Remember that violent or bloody costumes are not allowed.

October 26: D34 ParentConnect In-Person Event
Please join us on Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00pm (new date, changed from 9/28) in the Springman Wildcat Commons for “Empower Parents for Today’s World,” our first in-person D34 ParentConnect program since March 2020! You’ll leave with actions that you can put into place immediately to make a difference for you and your child.
Professional counseling staff from Family Service Center and members of the D34 student services team will guide parents in supporting their children’s academic and social emotional success. Through quotes and clips, D34 teachers will share their perspective on the student experience and offer thoughts on how teachers and parents can work together.
Collection boxes will be located at each school. Families may also choose to deliver food or check/cash donations directly to the pantry.
