Book Fair a Great Success!
I want to thank all students and parents for their participation in this year’s book fair. Based on sales of $3,393.64 we have received a $2,127.68 credit from Scholastic that will be used to purchase new books. Thanks to the teachers for taking time out from their classes and allowing the students to attend the fair.
- Special thanks to Mrs. Trusty for planning this event and doing a wonderful job of securing volunteers and scheduling classes to participate. This was the best-run Scholastic Fair we have ever had and we owe it all to Mrs. Trusty.
Ed Brown Cornhole Tournament
FOOD AND YOUR FAVORITE DRINK WILL BE AVAILABLE!
- Each year, the Men’s Club sponsor a Cornhole tournament in the name of Ed Brown. Ed was a valued member of St. Paul Parish and was passionate when it came to helping those in need, particularly with tuition help to send their children to school.
- The proceeds from this event support tuition assistance for families already enrolled at St. Paul. Many families have been assisted by this fund and it is important we continue to build the fund to help more families in need.
- If you are, or someone you know is, interested in participating in this event, please contact Roger Oliverio, Chairperson of the event at 502-693-2518.

Network & Internet Infrastructure Upgrade - Phase I Completed
- Great news! St. Paul School qualified this year for government funding through the eRate Program. This program provides discounts to assist schools and libraries in the United States to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access.
- We applied for and received a substantial award that has allowed us to upgrade our network and internet infrastructure. Installations were completed last week. We are very pleased with the increased speed and access on the school network and the internet!
- St. Paul School qualifies for more eRate funding for the 2016-2017 school year, which will provide even greater improvements to our networking and telephone needs.
Fish Fry Raffles 2016
- Class baskets will be on display at each Fish Fry and chances will be $1.00. Drawing will be March 18th at intermission of our bingo and our goal is $1000.
- Second, we will raffle a 60” LG Smart TV, valued at over $1000. Chances will be $5 and we will be sending home 5 chances per family as well as selling during our Fish Frys and Bingo. Drawing will be March 18th at intermission of our Bingo and our goal is $5000.
- Third, we will have a special “Parking Spot” raffle. The winner of this raffle will receive the first spot daily in the dismissal line. The chances will be $2.00 and we will send home 5 chances for each family. The drawing will be tonight February 26th at 6:00 PM and our goal is $1500.

We need individuals (minimum 2) to help sell chances on the baskets and TV raffle chances during the Fish Fry. When you are volunteering on any of the evenings your class works the Fish Frys, please indicate to your room mother that you would like to volunteer to sell chances. CEF Application for 2016-17 NOW thru MARCH 15th
- The 2016-17 Private School Aid Service (PSAS) tuition assistance application is available online at www.ceflou.org. We also have applications available in the office for those families who prefer to mail their information. Families only need to complete one PSAS application to be eligible for tuition assistance for all their children. The completed application, along with the $25 fee, should be submitted to PSAS on or before March 15, 2016.
- We sent an instructional flyer and application to every St. Paul family recently. Asking for tuition assistance is a very private family decision. Often families who are experiencing difficulty are reluctant to take the steps needed to request assistance but let me assure you, if this is the case the answer will be “Yes” to assistance. Last year with the help of the CEF, needs-based to tuition discounts, archdiocese voucher fund and school choice, St. Paul families were awarded $151,960 in assistance.
- NOW IS THE TIME for more families to join our storied Catholic school community with 105 years of tradition.
You can also find various links or files to download that I will post from time to time as rehearsals progress.
~Mr. Ransom

- In March, students will learn more about persuasive and narrative writing. They will be prompted to write a persuasive piece (like our wolf did) about a topic they feel strongly about, or they can write their own narrative fractured fairy tale.
