Maple Ridge Updates
September 23, 2020
Hello Maple Ridge Families,
We hope you have enjoyed the first month of school as much as we have enjoyed having students in the building each day. Thank you for following our healthy guidelines. We are thrilled to continue face to face instruction and most of our regular activities--just a bit differently! Our students have been amazing about making sure they wear their masks correctly each day and are still able to enjoy all the things they have appreciated about school in the past.
I have been greatly impressed with all of our students and their willingness to come to school each day with a smile and with a positive attitude. I also appreciate the steps each of you are taking to help ensure the safety of our school and to limit the spread of Covid 19. Please continue to follow safe practices and continue to watch for symptoms with your child and within your family.
During these unique and challenging times, it is important that we work together to help provide the safety within our school for each of our students, staff and any visitors. ALL adults who enter our building and go beyond the office need to have their temperature taken--even if it is for a moment. We have adults able to help take a child to class or deliver something they need for the day, so please come see us!
This month our 3rd grade students were able to read about and promote a service project that will continue through the end of the month. Our Sock-tember Drive to collect new socks for those in need has one more week. The third grade classes are excited to report that we have, to date, collect 754 pairs of socks--only needing a few more to reach their goal of 1000 pairs to donate!
School Community Council Elections
We have three positions open for parent members of our SCC-School Community Council. This is a great opportunityto help discuss ways to use our Trustland’s funds to help meet the needs of our students. If you are interested in being placed on the ballot please email Angela Youd (angela.youd@nebo.edu) to express interest by September 27.
