Sycamore Teams Head To State
Several Sycamore teams and clubs will be competing at the state level this month. Please wish good luck to the following:
- Juniper Robotics: FIRST Tech Challenge Ohio Championship March 7-9
- Sycamore DECA: March 8-9
- Sycamore Wrestling: Eugene Harney (District Champ) and Adam Gelman (District Runner-Up) March 8-10
- Aves Basketball: District Championship vs. Hamilton March 10, 7:00 p.m. Cintas Center
We also want to congratulate the following students who have recently competed at state:
- Girls Track: 3rd Place FInish in the 4X4
- Boys Track: William Sanders, 8th Place Finish for Shot Put
- Gymnastics: Tanvi Mayya 31st at State, District Runner Up (District Champ on Floor)
- Diving: Simon Huth 31st at State
- Swimming: Collin Preissler placed 16th in 100Y Butterfly
Fashion for the Cure Raises $85,000
Strutting for a cause! Fashion for the Cure hit the runway with style and purpose, raising an incredible $85,000 for the Dragonfly Foundation! Our Fashion Design students showcased their talents, creating breathtaking ensembles, while Dragonfly children stole the spotlight as inspiring models. Every dollar raised goes towards supporting local families and kids battling pediatric cancer.

Handpicked from a pool of standout nominations by teachers and administrators, these students embody the essence of what Sycamore represents. Each week, we'll release a captivating video on social media, allowing our community to witness these outstanding individuals representing our district at the highest level. Sycamore Welcomes New Assistant Superintendent
Sycamore Schools is excited to announce the appointment of Meghan Lawson as the new Assistant Superintendent overseeing curriculum. The Sycamore Board of Education approved her hiring at their March 6 meeting. With an extensive background in educational leadership, Meghan brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of driving positive change in academic environments. Learn more about Meghan.
Culture & Climate Survey
Positive school climates are essential for creating the environment, resources, and relationships necessary for students to thrive. Your feedback is crucial in shaping our school community.
We're conducting our second consecutive Culture & Climate survey, in collaboration with the third-party group SHP, to gain a nuanced understanding of our school environment. Click here to take the anonymous survey by Monday, March 11, 2024, at 11:59 pm. Your input is vital in our commitment to creating safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments.
Strategic Plan Update
As we embark on the journey to shape the future of our district, we invite you to actively participate in the creation of Sycamore Schools' new Strategic Plan. Our current plan, adopted in 2021, is in its final year. To ensure a seamless transition, your input is crucial in guiding our district's direction over the next several years.
Here are the upcoming opportunities for you to contribute:
- Focus Groups: Join us for interactive discussions facilitated by our consultant. Your valuable input will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of our district. Sycamore Staff: We have multiple sessions for our staff on March 11-12. Please check your email for more information. Families and community members: We look forward to hosting you during two sessions on March 11 (1:00-2:00 pm, 6:00-7:00 pm)
Survey: If you are unable to attend a focus group, don't worry! Please take one of our surveys to provide an equally important avenue for your input. Please note that the survey related to our strategic plan will be distinct from the annual Culture & Climate Survey.

Who can be nominated? Any Sycamore staff member: a teacher, administrator, educational assistant, bus driver, custodian, administrative assistant, etc. We are looking for simply beautiful moments that remind us to be grateful that #WeAreAviators
