Asynchronous Remote Learning Day This Friday, March 5th!
Good afternoon Rancho Families. As you are probably aware, this Friday, March 5th is a district asynchronous (remote) learning day for ALL students. There will be no classes held on campus. An asynchronous (remote) learning environment is a learning environment that does not require participants, teachers, and students to be online at the same time. Asynchronous (remote) learning will occur at a time and place of the parent or student’s choosing.
Student expectations for these days:
- PK-4th students will need access to an appropriate device which will go home on Thursday, March 4th.
- Materials/assignments for ESLE students will be sent home on Thursday, March 4th.
- PK-4th teachers will upload assignments into Google Classroom or SeeSaw, and they will be available by 8 am on Friday.
- Students may work at their own pace on Friday with all work to be submitted online (if required) by 11:59 pm on March 5th.
- Content area assignments as specified below:
PK to 2nd - Assignments in 3 content areas (ELAR, Math, Science or Social Studies) aligned to the district's curriculum requiring approximately 10-15 min student effort for each content area.
3rd & 4th - Assignments in 4 content areas (ELAR, Math, Science, and SS) aligned to the district's curriculum requiring approximately 15-20 min student effort for each content area.
- Specials content (PE, Music, Art, Spanish) will also be uploaded to Google Classroom or SeeSaw. These are recommended but optional.
Attendance:
Students will complete the required content assignments by 11:59 pm on March 5th in order to be marked present.
You can reach out to your child's teacher by email on Friday. They will check email periodically and respond as soon as possible. Thank you for your support as we provide our teachers with time for instructional planning and collaboration to best support our students' academic needs.

Farewell from Mrs. Parker
We are going to miss Mari so very much! But her Rancho family is so excited for her and this new adventure!
Dear Rancho Families,
I have really enjoyed being the Receptionist at Rancho Sienna, and I am going to miss seeing all of the kiddos coming in every morning. I am going to miss seeing the parents that I have made a friendships with, but I hope that we will still see each other from time to time. I am still in the district as the Liberty Hill Jr High as the Registrar, so I hope I will get to see some of you and your kiddos there soon!
Thank you and God Bless.

Dancing Through the Decades
Texas Education Agency Announces Updates to Public Health Guidance; TEA Also Provides Updates to COVID-19 Vaccine FAQ
On March 2, 2021, Governor Abbott issued Executive Order GA-34 which addresses the statewide wearing of face coverings (i.e., masks), which takes effect March 10, 2021. TEA’s authority to implement operational requirements for public schools remains in effect (e.g., TEA’s Public Health Guidance).
As a result of the lifting of the order on masks, TEA has updated its Public Health Guidance. Under this updated guidance, a public school system’s current practices on masks may continue unchanged. Local school boards have full authority to determine their local mask policy.
TEA has also made updates related to surface cleaning requirements.
Additionally, the Department of State Health Services announced today that educators and school support staff are eligible for vaccines effective immediately. See this link for more information.
March Character Trait- Patience
A Little Patience Goes A Long Way!
Our character value for the month of March is PATIENCE. We are heading into the time of year when patience is much needed. It’s hard for many adults to exercise patience, and it’s even more difficult for little ones! Core Essentials defines PATIENCE as waiting until later for what you want now. It also includes giving grace with people who aren’t doing things just as we wish they would. And in the midst of all that, we need to maintain a positive attitude while we’re being patient! WHEW – that can be a tall order, and I thank you for helping our kiddos practice this skill! As always, I thank you for your support!
