In just two weeks of testing, our 144 students in grades 3-5 have completed 635 Forward test sessions in ELA and math. Aside from students who have test sessions to make up, all of our 3rd and 5th graders have completed their testing. This is a huge accomplishment!
At Ben Franklin, we structured our Forward testing a little bit differently this year, with all students taking their tests in a small group environment. Myself, our school psychologist (Mrs. Bleimehl), and our instructional coaches (Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Schultz), in addition to the classroom teachers, all took a small group at each grade level. This meant that students were testing in groups of six to eight students. The goal was to provide a more comfortable, tight-knit environment to reduce stress for students. Mrs. Schultz and Mrs. Campbell also planned and prepared daily motivators for students to help them maintain focus and positivity throughout their testing. Overall, the experience has been good - I know my groups have formed a bond in just our short time together!
Our fourth graders will continue their testing for the next two weeks by completing tests in science and social studies. We wish them the best of luck!

FPS 2024-25 OPEN ENROLLMENT INFORMATION
At the January 24, 2024 School Board Meeting, the FPS School Board approved (139) open enrollment seats for the 2024-25 school year. Online applications for open enrollment are accepted beginning Monday, February 5th through Friday, April 30, 2024 @ 4pm. For all other open enrollment information, please view our webpage here which includes the breakdown of open seats by grade level and directions to follow for those wishing to open enroll. RAFFLE CONTEST!
As we approach the end of the school year, our 5th Grade Students will be heading to Wildcat Days. Wildcat Days is where all of the 5th grade classes in the district get together to participate in team building activities to get to know each other in preparation for transitioning to 6th grade. To help offset the cost of this event we are hosting a Raffle Contest! Tickets will be sold for $1 each. Here’s what up for grabs: SIX Front Row Seats to your child’s Spring Concert (3 winners per concert), Reserved Front Row Parking at the Spring Concert (3 winners per concert), and Front Of The Line Pick Up for a week (2 winners) either the week of April 29-3 or May 20-24.

RELAY FOR LIFE FUNDRAISER FRI 4/26 @ FHS
Franklin High School is proud to host the Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society on Friday, April 26th from 5:30pm-10:30pm. All money raised goes to research, prevention, detection, education, and patient support! It is not a race but a night filled with fun activities and emotion for an amazing cause. FHS has held its own (student-led and planned) Relay for Life for many years and this continues to be a very special event put on by students.
