Wingate Families-
Thanks to all families that participated in the Kids Heart Challenge this spring. Wingate Elementary students raised $8,833.70 for the American Heart Association.
We had a great turn out at the PTO Trivia Night a couple weeks ago! Thanks to all parents who either played trivia, organized a table or volunteered to work that night. We appreciate all the support that you provide Wingate and our PTO!
There are many dates listed below for this month, lots of fun things planned for May. Please reach out if you need anything from us at Wingate. Thanks for your continued support!

Family Reading Night-
Looking forward to Family Reading Night next Wednesday, May 1st. Please plan to bring your children and join us to rotate through some reading stations. Families can stop in anytime during the hours below. The Bookfair will be opened during Family Reading Night.
Book Fair at Wingate-
The last book fair of the year is coming up soon! This is a BOGO book fair (buy one, get one). Parents may shop with their child after school each day until 4:00 PM. Students will also have the opportunity to shop during the day with their classes. The book fair will be open during family reading night, May 1st 6:00-7:30 PM.
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week-
Thanks to our PTO for planning a great week for our staff in May. We appreciate all the thoughtful gestures and time that go into making this week special for our staff. Thank you!!!
Kindergarten Screenings-Monday, May 6th
We will have no school for our current Kindergarteners on Monday, May 6th. Instead on this day, we will hold Kindergarten Screenings for incoming Kindergarten students. If you have a child that will be in Kindergarten next year, please start the registration process and call our office to choose a screening time for May 6th.
PreK Screenings-
School Supply Kits and Lists for the 24-25 School Year-
We have partnered with 1st Day School Supplies again to have kits available for families to purchase with all items on school supply lists. This is a convenient and cost effective way to get school supplies purchased for next year. Here is the link to order kits for next year-

Health Requirements-
Just a reminder that all students entering Pre-K, Kindergarten, 6th and 9th grades must provide new and updated physicals and immunizations by the 1st day of school in August. If the required documentation is not provided, students are excluded from school attendance beginning the first day of school. Below are the items that need to be completed along with dates. If you have any questions, please email Nurse Douglas at douglasm@msd19.org or call our office to talk with her.

Summer STEM Opportunities-
Illinois Math and Science Academy is hosting several camps over the summer for elementary and middle school students. Scholarships are available for low income and military-affiliated students. Any questions, please contact Dawn Waller at dwaller@imsa.edu.
