March
From the Principal...
Dear Colbert Elementary School Families,
As we embrace the arrival of spring, we are also gearing up for the planning process for next school year. The task of placing students into classes is intricate, involving various components to ensure each child's needs are met effectively. We understand the importance of creating a conducive classroom environment for optimal learning, which is why we invite parents to provide input on the type of environment they believe their child thrives in. If you wish to share your insights, please visit the front office to pick up a form. While we will make every effort to accommodate your preferences, please note that we cannot guarantee specific placements. The input process will remain open from March 1 to May 31. Kindly remember that forms must be submitted in person, as emailed requests will not be accepted this year. Thank you for your collaboration as we strive to provide the best educational experience for all our students.
Warm regards,
Cari Trowbridge
Principal

From the School Counselor...
A recent topic in my classroom lessons has been EMPATHY. This can be a harder skill to teach children at this younger age, but there are some great resources to help kiddos understand how to be more empathic. Click the links below for a few ideas.
A Little Spot of Empathy (read aloud book for kids)
Empathy perspectives (more for parents to use as a teaching tool)
