Chronic Absenteeism
Research shows that missing 10 percent of school, or about 18 days a year in most school districts, negatively affects a student’s academic performance. That’s just two days a month and that’s known as being chronically absent. (from attendanceworks.org)
We appreciate all that you do to get your children to school each day. Please let your child's teacher or an administrator know if you are struggling. We want to help.
Track
Track for fifth and sixth grade students will start after spring break. Watch for sign-up sheets the week of March 11th-15th. The first practice will be on Monday, March 25th after school. A complete schedule will be given during the first week of practice.

Parent Pick-Up and Drop-Off Reminder
Just a reminder that the parking lot off Owyhee is open only for buses and daycare vans for drop-off and pick-up. Parents can drop-off and pick-up in the parking lot off Nez Perce or can park at the Whitney United Methodist Church and meet their students at the playground. Thank you!
A Reminder About Birthday Celebrations
Each Monday, we announce students with birthdays for the week, and those students get to pick a book to keep from our Birthday Book Cart. Once a month, we provide a treat for birthday students in the cafeteria at lunch time. We made sure to celebrate June and July birthdays the last two months.
*We will no longer accept birthday treats or goodie bags for class birthday celebrations. This will help us celebrate every student and ensure we’re following BSD Board policy.
