MS Leadership Clubs....Enjoy Guys and Dolls
Dr. Seuss celebrating a great American children's author
Parents and families came to enjoy in on the fun of celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. The days started with Dr. Seuss' famous "green eggs and ham" breakfast, classroom read in with students in Pjs and special guest appearances of Thing 1 and Thing 2. What was sooooo awesome was the many families who laughed, smiled and enjoyed reading time with their child and other students in the classrooms.
March 14 - Student Protest Engagement.......our role as educators
Last week we all received an email and phone message from LBUSD's Public Information Officer sharing the district's position on the "possible" upcoming student led protest in response to the situation/tragedy of student death in Parkland Florida. The embedded link is LBUSD's position:

Please note, some of our middle school students have already inquired about their ability to participate.
Safe and Civil Rewind/Reminder....its about ...Relationships, Relationships, Relationships
10 "Most Wanting":
Now that we have all been familiarized with our 10 Most Wanting students...let's get engaged! Let's be intentional about greeting our students by name. The posters are in my office (Spenker) and are available for review if there is a special student you would like to strike up a quality conversation with.
Referral Agreements:
1. Level 1's from the classroom should be documented, dated, and saved. If there is a distinct pattern of behavior, and needs to be shifted to a Level Two, provide all copies with the new referral.
2. De-escalate classroom behaviors by telling the student the situation will be addressed in a few minutes or at the end of the period. This allows the student time to regulate their emotions and ensures that a calm conversation may now take place.
3. Students will not be referred to the office for Level One misbehaviors (not completing work, using electronics, etc.)
4. Students will be returned to class for Level 1's or if they are sent down without a referral.
5. As much context or description will be provided, on the referral, as possible
Thank you the Admin Team appreciates and values your daily work with student and their success.
