PA Day
Welcome to the Lab
Thanks for joining me in the lab.
If you have any questions, please come see me or email me. I am always happy to help.
Start small, end large
Today we will look at a few apps and sites that can be used in your class by both you and your students.
These are by no means the end all and be all that you can use. Start small, with something familiar and end large with an expanding repertoire of tools to use.
Share
If there are other tools that you are using, and they work well for you, please feel free to share them with your team, (especially so that I can learn about them),
PLAY, PLAY, PLAY
Your students will also need time to become familiar with them.
It takes time to play with these apps and sites to become proficient, so, play on.
Social Media to Consider
You Tube
Draw and Tell
Wordpress
Wordpress is a hosted version of the open source software. Basically, you can start a blog or build a website in seconds without any technical knowledge.
It is free, but also has paid upgrades.
AudioBoom
Explain Everything
Explain Everything is an easy-to-use, screencasting, and interactive whiteboard tool that lets you annotate, animate, narrate, import, and export almost anything to and from almost anywhere. Create slides, draw in any color, add shapes, add text, and use a laser pointer.
It is basically Draw and tell on steroids.
Green Screen by Do Ink
Apple TV
Mobi
Control your computer from anywhere in the class. Basically an over glorified mouse. There is more that it can do, but I have not had the time to explore with it.
Each grade level gets 2 devices. Pick yours up today if you haven't done so already, so at least you can walk away with something.
