5Essentials Parent Survey
Flossmoor School District 161 is administering the survey of school climate and learning conditions. The survey provides a unique opportunity for students, teachers and parents to have a voice in improving their schools.
The Illinois 5Essentials Survey provides a comprehensive picture of a school’s organizational culture in an individualized report measuring five “essentials” critical for school success:
- Effective Leaders
- Collaborative Teachers
- Involved Families
- Supportive Environment
- Ambitious Instruction
We encourage all District 161 teachers, parents, and students to make their voices heard to impact positive change. You can find the link to the parent site at https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/login/

School Traffic and Parking: Help Keep Our Students Safe
Please help keep our students safe by observing the traffic signs and patterns around the school. There is NO PARKING on the east side of the street during school hours. This helps to ensure that the buses can pass down the street safely without causing damage to cars and that our students can safely cross the street. Additionally, please do not double park your car. This creates traffic congestion along the street.
Additionally, cell phone usage is prohibited while driving in a school zone.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Monthly attendance letters will be sent home for children that miss two or more days unexcused.
If your child will not be in attendance please call the school's absence line at 708-709-7699 ext. 2053. This line is available for messages 24 hours a day. Call the school office at 708-647-7100 if calling after 8:30 a.m. on the day of the absence.
