The MLK Day of Service is a way to transform Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and teachings into community action. On this day, Americans of every age and background celebrate Dr. King through service projects that strengthen communities, empower individuals, bridge barriers, and create solutions.
MLK Day of Service Project | King for a Day Service Projects Off-Campus
Saturday, Jan. 26th, 7:30am-12:30pm
We are participating in the Rochester Wide "King for a Day" Service program. This will start with speakers, musical performances, and poetry slams in Rochester followed by our service projects, an inter-generational (college students and seniors citizens) dialogue about Civil Rights, a project in support of CP Rochester supporting people with disabilities working on arts and crafts and assisting with organizing and cleaning the facility, and a youth development project with the YMCA, sharing our stories of how we decided to go to college and how we are using college to achieve our dreams.
Transportation, breakfast, and an exclusive MLK Day of Service t-shirt is provided!
All participants will meet at the Shults Center Information desk on Saturday, January 26 at 7:15a.m. in preparation for a 7:30a.m. departure from Naz! You will be back at Naz by 12:30p.m.
