Don't Miss It!!!
Back in Action
It's that time of year, when we start planning THE END!! The final days and months for our 8th graders, final projects, last field trips, graduation and promotion ceremonies, among what seems like dozens of other big events!
On that note, make sure to mark your calendar for Thursday of next week, which is our 1st Annual Tech Fair. Mr. Rymer will be showcasing his tech program, and the incredible work of our amazing students of all ages! I never had a tech class....EVER, and students as young as kindergarteners are learning about coding, robotics, digital 3D map making, and more than you can probably imagine!
Principal Schoning will be trying not to burn himself or the food, as he grills burgers and dogs for attendees. We will have snacks, a light dinner, and drinks on offer for free to all attendees. All donations will go right back to the Tech Program.
We are blessed to have the only real tech program in the Archdiocese! Really! Come see what everyone is raving about!! Bring your kids, neighbors, friends and anyone who is curious and interested in a fun night! I promise you, it will be way more interesting than a typical science fair. If you know folks who are curious about where to send their kids to school for any reason, this would be a great
See notes below on upcoming events too.
Happy Easter Season and spring!
Principal Schoning
What's 2nd Grade doing this week?
The 2nd Grade is working on symmetry in Math. We are showing that we understand symmetry by making butterflies that are symmetrical in Art. We learned that butterflies are always symmetrical.

NEW ALTAR SERVER TRAINING for 2nd-8th Graders
All Catholic children from 2nd-8th grade who have made their Holy Communion (or will make it by training day) are invited to altar serve at St. Therese Catholic Church. We have spring training during the week of 4/22 during the school day (3rd-8th grade) and the week of 4/30 (2nd grade).
Trained altar servers will altar serve about once or twice during the school week and once or twice on the weekend.
Please sign up here if your child is interested in serving. Training will take place during the school day.
If you have any questions regarding altar serving. please contact Ms. Campos at gcampos@stthereseschool.org.
We had a beautiful liturgy this week, presented by our 7th Grade students.
Thank you to our students for leading mass.
Many students were surprised that Easter is a liturgical season, not just one day. Happy Easter, still!
First Annual St. Therese Tech Fair
Thursday April 11th, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Saint Therese Gym (MPC)
Mr. Rymer and all St. Therese students have been working hard, and having fun all year, learning about computer science, engineering, robotics, and many other things. They are inviting the whole St. Therese community to come check out the results. This is open to all, including friends, grandparents, neighbors and anyone you would like to bring. I personally promise you that you will not be disappointed. Come see what all the kids are raving about!!
Gianna and Hoodyia learning the ins and outs of electric engineering!! Mr. Rymer's tech classes are empowering young ladies by providing them the opportunity to learn the basics in a hands-on fashion. The next generation of scientists, engineers, coders, and jobs coming from STEM and tech may well be dominated by women, and should be!!
Vote for Mrs. Baumbach for National Teacher of the year!
A little bird told me that Mrs. Baumbach was selected by her students, though none wants to admit their thoughtful and kind good deed. If you know Mrs. Baumbach, you know exactly why her students elected her to win this national competition as teacher of the year! If you don't, I encourage you to consider taking 1 minute to vote for her anyway. In addition to the honor and a personal award to Mrs. Baumbach, the school of the chosen teacher will receive $10,000 (!!!) to go towards technology in their school. Let's each do our part and secure the win for our very own, Mrs. B.!!

P.S. Anyone can vote, they don't have to be a student or even have any affiliation with St. Therese School. So please help us out!

Great opportunity for St. Therese kids with Metro Youth Symphony
We all know that the many activities for our children can be A LOT! Not only that, there are the associated costs with each of them. Metro Youth Symphony can alleviate a lot of that burden.
Great endorsement from a St. Therese parent whose children participate in the Metro Youth Symphony: "There are scholarships, free instrument loaners, and great structure and leaders for new and aspiring musicians."

Update on 2024 - 2025 School Year Tuition
This year current families will be automatically re-enrolled for the 2024-25 school year, and should contact the office if they do not wish to continue at St. Therese. The annual $200 registration fee will be applied to your FACTS account on April 1st.
We are committed to keeping tuition affordable to all our families and financial aid is available for those who qualify. Our tuition rates are still among the lowest of K-8 Catholic schools in Oregon. Due to inflation and cost of living adjustments for all, our tuition rate for the upcoming school year has gone up to $8,600, which we intentionally kept under a 4% increase.
The deadline was previously posted as March 1st, but the good news is that families may still apply for Financial Aid.
Please use the link to the school website for more information on registration, forms etc.
