Moose Pass Students Winning this Semester
Moose Pass Students participated in the Wildlife Forever Songbird Art contest this semester. In the K-3 category, Westin won 1st place for his drawing of a painted bunting and Claire won 2nd place for her drawing of a cardinal. In the 4th grade and up category, Lee won 1st place for his drawing of the red-winged black bird and the essay that he wrote about the bird.
Aria won 1st place in the district wide K-4 I-Did-A Photo contest for her Alaska life photo, "The Spectacular".
Gabriella, Lee, and Ruby won 2nd place in the district wide Battle of the Books for 5th-6th.
Congratulations to all of these hard working students!!

Scholastic Book Orders
We've only had 2 families turn in their certificates for FREE books from Scholastic. Please go to Scholastic.com with your child and pick out your $20 worth of books. Then just email or text Donna, or send in a note with your child's choices.
PAC Officers
We are in need of a PAC president, secretary, and treasurer. It sometimes becomes difficult to conduct the business of the PAC without officers. Please consider volunteering.
Substitutes
Cooper Landing School is in need of substitutes for all positions: teacher, instructional aide, special education aide, secretary, and custodian. Teacher substitutes need only to have a high school diploma or GED. A teaching certificate is not required.
Winter Gear
Please make sure your child has a warm jacket, hat, gloves, snow pants and boots. If it is convenient for you, and your child has extras, these things can be kept at the school. Please make sure to label each item with your child's name.
Community School Activities
Volleyball - Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Walking/Work-out - Canceled until further notice
Tot Time - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:45 am - 12:45 pm
District Office has informed us that since there is no student contact for Community School activities, background checks are no longer needed unless you are issued a key to the school.
Field Trips

Hope School Happenings
Hope School will be having an ALICE Drill with law enforcement present on March 18th. KPBSD has drills of various kinds in order to demonstrate school readiness for dealing with a variety of emergency situations by exercising the District procedures and protocols from the KPBSD Emergency Action Plan. If you do not wish for your students to participate in this drill, please make sure to plan accordingly for your student(s) for March 18th. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school. We will be happy to make sure your questions are answered.
HOPE SCHOOL PTO MEETING TODAY HAS BEEN CANCELLED! The new meeting date is to be determined. We can send out an email to let you know what date they confirm. 'Please ask your students for READATHON details this month. The start date for reading is quickly approaching.
Please do not forget COOKING WITH JEANNINE Tuesday the 5th. The students are looking forward to time in the kitchen learning cooking skills. We appreciate all of our parents and community members. You all make a huge impact on our students with the time and effort you afford to bring your talents and knowledge into our school.
