Safety Patrol:
Safety Patrol (4th-5th graders) will be responsible for helping students arrive to school and leave school safely. Training will be required, and students will be assigned times to carry out their responsibilities.
Student Council Assembly Planning and Presenting:
Student reps (3rd-5th graders) will plan and present assemblies. There will be one assembly/quarter, and there will be a required meeting each quarter to do this work. This would be a great opportunity for students who enjoy speaking and presenting in front of others.
Student Council Spirit Day Coordination:
Student reps (3rd-5th graders) will plan spirit days. There will be one spirit week/quarter, and there will be a required meeting each quarter to plan these days. Students will also make posters to promote the spirit days.

Parent Feedback Form Concerning 2019-2020 Class Placement
There are times when parents have information that is pertinent to share regarding class placement. In my experience, only about 5% of parents share information as parents feel that the classroom teachers know their child well and make decisions that best suit their child. You are your child(ren)’s first teacher, their strongest advocate, and know them the best!
In this feedback, you may wish to share information on your child’s learning style, academic strengths, or social needs. Or you might know information about a situation outside of school which might impact your child’s learning or social-emotional well-being. This information assists us in placing each child in the classroom that suits him/her best.
If you are providing input about teacher-student fit, I would ask that you please refrain from requesting any specific teacher by name. There are several reasons for this:
- Grade levels spend a great deal of time reviewing student needs both academically and socially as we determine class placement.
- Accepting requests for specific teachers from the bulk of our parents would make assigning students to classes very difficult, if not impossible.
- Further, there may be multiple requests from families for children to be in the same classroom, yet this could create a situation that is not conducive to learning for all students in the classroom.
If you are providing input on multiple children from the same family, please complete one survey PER child.
All parent input will remain confidential. Deadline for filling out forms is May 1, 2019.
Upcoming Community Service Event Rescheduled--Stamp Out Hunger Monday, April 15th 3:50-5:00 P.M.
Come help us prepare for the largest one-day food collection drive with Harvesters. We will be neatly folding grocery bags around envelopes. These bags will be delivered by mail carriers in May and picked up on May 11th. Hopefully a representative from Harvesters will join us to share more about Harvesters. Due to the strict folding guidelines, we need lots of parents. If your child is in K, 1st or 2nd-they must have an adult supervise during the event. Please come in to pick up your child from the pod. Every child will be signed in and signed out. Please sign up here.
