A Very Important Message for those who have take the Johnson & Johnson vaccination!
Our Path Note Topic
A message to our school community partners sent on behalf of Pennsylvania’s Acting Secretary of Health, Alison Beam:
Good evening,
I am writing to let you know that the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) notified all COVID-19 vaccine providers today to pause administering doses of the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine until at least April 20 following a recommendation, made out of an abundance of caution, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
According to the CDC and FDA, of the 6.8 million Americans who received the Johnson & Johnson's (Janssen) vaccine, there are six cases (<.00009%) of a rare blood clot in women between the ages of 18 and 48.
If members of your community received the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine within the last few weeks and have any health concerns, or if they develop severe headaches, abdominal pain, leg pain, or shortness of breath within three weeks of getting the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine, they should contact their health care provider.
Individuals who have appointments scheduled to receive a Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccination should keep those appointments.
The DOH is closely monitoring this situation and will provide additional information as it becomes available from the CDC and FDA.
Thanks,
Alison Beam, Acting Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health

Piece of the Puzzle
Please congratulate Heidi Green of Heck-Myers buses. Heidi makes it a point to build strong relationships and rapport with all of her learners. One day in particular when one of her learners was struggling and didn't want to go home, she made it a point to get down on the learners eye level and engage in a problem solving conversation as to why the learner didn't want to board the bus and what solution would help the learner. The school staff who witnessed this interaction were blown away by her willingness to support the school team and her innate ability to support her learner.
If you see Heidi, congratulate her for being a Piece of the Puzzle. 'Way to go, Heidi!
