Coming Back to School
with the Sudbury Public Schools
Dear Families,
As we prepare for a return to in-person and remote learning this Fall, our continued home/school partnership will be essential. This summer the SPS Behavioral and Mental Health Reopening Task Force Subcommittee developed resources to support our students and their families as we return.
FIRST, I encourage you to view the video above (also available on our website). This is a succinct way for our students to understand The Three Ws at Haynes! This SPS original video highlights the important rules that all students and staff will follow: Wear a Mask, Wash Your Hands and Watch Your Distance. Our attitude as adults about these requirements will impact the reactions and compliance of the children, so thank you for being as positive and encouraging as possible as you practice these expectations at home and in the community.
NEXT, please review the Start of School Health and Wellness Checklist.
FINALLY, if you haven't already, be sure to visit the brand new SPS Social-Emotional Resources for Parents website, I urge you to consult this resource as well. Click on the Returning to School During Covid button to find links to everything from addressing anxiety to talking with your children about COVID including wearing masks, social distancing, and so much more.
We are so grateful to the school staff and parents on this subcommittee who were instrumental in finding resources to support you, as well as our staff, as we prepare the children for re-entry to school.
More information will be forthcoming from both Haynes and the Sudbury Public Schools. I deeply appreciate your support and cooperation. The safety of the students and staff is dependent on the actions of us all.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey LaBroad
Principal
