World Mental Health Day 2021
The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. The day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
This year World Mental Health Day is on Sunday, October 10th, and the theme is "Mental Health Care For All - Let's Make It a Reality." Please take a few minutes to look through these links for statistics on how mental health challenges impact our kids, as well as some helpful resources. Please access the link here. Also, please access the mental health attachment below for additional information.

Second Steps
We just had week 2 and week 3 of our SEL scope and sequence. Second Step skills and concepts are designed to help children both in and out of school. Four units will cover the following:
- Growth Mindset & Goal Setting: Children learn how to pay attention and manage distractions, develop a growth mindset, and apply goal-setting strategies to their social and academic lives.
- Emotion Management: Children learn how to identify and label emotions and use emotion-management strategies-including stress management for older students, to calm feelings down.
- Empathy and Kindness: Children learn how to recognize kindness and act kindly, have empathy for others and take others’ perspectives, and recognize kind acts and empathy as important elements of building and maintaining relationships.
- Problem-Solving: Children learn how to identify and state a problem, recognize if a problem is an accident, and use the STEP problem-solving process:
S: Say the problem
T: Think of Solutions
E: Explore the outcomes
P: Pick a solution
You will receive a Home Link for each lesson that gives you a summary of what was taught, as well as ways to reinforce the lesson at home. Please click the attachments below for the week 2 and week 3 lessons.

School Fees
Arriving to School Late
If you are dropping your student(s) off at school after morning car rider, and there are no adult staff members present outside, you MUST park your car, walk your student into the building, and sign him/her in at the table inside door #1. It is a safety concern to let students out curbside without adult supervision, and we want to be certain that all students are safe while entering/exiting the building. Also, students dropped off late will be marked “tardy" in Skyward. A student is considered tardy when arriving after 7:40.
Classroom Learning
Mrs. Cohron's Class

Mrs. Kamo's class
Mrs. Kamo's students were writing inquiry discoveries of what happened to a river after a land slide occurred! They discovered the river was lacking oxygen & was unhealthy.
