Weekly Updates
Week 32, Learning out third song!
Just like that, the end of the year is upon us! While we took the week to dive into our last piece for the concert, it's also been a great week to reflect on all of the progress we've made this year. It's incredible to see the progress we've made, and it's been on full display as we learn our new pieces at an amazing pace. Students in all levels have hit their stride, and are showing not only that they've achieved at a high level, but that they're ready to take on new, exciting challenges!
Beginners: We're nearly ready to shed the beginner moniker entirely, as students have begun to display an incredible confidence in their learning and playing. Our third piece is the most difficult one we've learned so far, and students have more than risen to the challenge! It's exciting to imagine the things to come as these students begin to look towards the next year, as a part of a full orchestra class!
Prelude/Philharmonic/Symphony: Our last pieces have introduced some new challenges for us, but we're more than ready to take it on! It's been incredible to see students continue to rise to the occasion, and many have started to show signs of being the leaders of the future in the RMSO!

Please welcome Mrs. Emily Quin to the RMSO Staff!
With our tremendous growth over the past few years, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re growing the RMS Orchestra staff! We’ve completed the interview process, and after meeting and speaking with numerous highly-qualified candidates, we’d like to welcome Mrs. Emily Quin to the RMSO family! Mrs. Quin will join us beginning next year, and we’re ecstatic to welcome her and her family to Prosper!
Mrs. Quin has provided a brief introduction to get to know a bit about her, and will hopefully be around a bit before the end of the year to get to know the orchestra. She’s hoping to attend the concert on May 13th to see all of the amazing things we can do, and we’re working to organize a day for her to meet some of the students and families. Mrs. Quin will be an excellent addition to the RMS Orchestra team, and we are excited for you to get to know her soon!
From Mrs. Quin – “My name is Emily Quin and next year will be my 8th year in the classroom, and first year in Prosper ISD! I’m so exited to be joining Roger’s MS! I have been married for 9 years to my husband,Travis who teaches Bible to HS students. We have two girls who are 5 and 2 years old, Ava and Gracie, with one doggie named Roxanne. I started Violin in fourth grade, and haven't stopped loving strings since then! I love the beach and fiddle music. In my free time, I like to read, play Violin with my church worship team, take nature walks, listen to records, and drink iced coffee! I cannot wait to make exciting music next year and meet each of the Roger’s Orchestra families soon!”
