Raider Nation Staff Newsletter
Week of September 23, 2019
Fall is Here!
Dear Raider Nation,
I hope your weekend is going well and you are enjoying the last (very warm) days of summer! It is hard to believe that tomorrow is the first day of autumn. With school now in full gear, football on Sunday afternoon (tough Ravens loss today ☹), it is only a matter of time before the holiday season is upon us (next week is Rosh Hashanah). The arrival of autumn also signifies the arrival of Homecoming! This year, Homecoming will be Saturday, October 12. Please see below for all the information.
A huge thank you to members of the PLC for unveiling our new initiatives last week during PIP. I really appreciate all of the time and energy that went into the revamped Student of the Month and RAID Staff Bingo Engagement. I am looking forward to seeing just how competitive everyone is completing their bingo boards! As a reminder, if you have any feedback, please let Katie Meloro know and we will use it to enhance the initiatives. Thanks so much!
Another thank you to everyone for your cooperation with the walkout on Friday. Honestly, we were not expecting so many students (about 750). Nevertheless, there were no incidents and for the most part a large majority of the students were respectful of the cause. If you know Victoria Adler, please congratulate her on organizing the event here at Atholton. She met with me and was well prepared as the event organizer.
Our RaiderTime procedures are getting better and better. Hana and her team of students are doing an outstanding job! Just a reminder to send all questions, comments, and feedback to Sam Richman. He is the administrative liaison for RaiderTime. Please remind your students that the sign-up deadline is Tuesday at 2:10.
If you are interested in the boundary review process, this Tuesday is the week designated for the Atholton community to speak. Public forum begins at 7pm. You can watch the Board meeting online via the district website.
Lastly, it is now time to begin to schedule your SLO conferences. Each administrator will provide an opportunity for teachers to sign-up for a date and time. You will need to have your baseline data and be prepared to discuss your area(s) of focus this year. For those on full evaluation, you will need to come to the meeting prepared to discuss the two components (one from domain 1 and one from domain 4) that you will focus on and collect your three artifacts for each. Please see your assigned administrator if you have any questions.
See you all tomorrow!
Robert
