October News from the Office
The first month of the school year has flown by in the blink of an eye. We'd like to thank the parents for a smooth transition into the school year and being supportive of your child at home. Our teachers continue to establish routines within the classroom to ensure a safe learning environment. Please talk with your child on ways to be respectful, responsible, and safe while at school so success is felt academically and behaviorally.
Here are a couple reminders:
- With cooler weather comes cold-like symptoms. Please monitor your child's health as colds can be transferred easily to others who may have difficulty fending off illnesses.
- Elementary Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held November 20th and 21st. Information on sign-ups will be handed out later in October. Please reserve those days in your schedules so you can meet with your child's teacher and learn about the progress that he or she made so far this school year.
Thank you,
Harding Elementary Administration

ARC Reading Homework
Students in the district continue to engage in books daily in the classroom. The young readers are reading fiction and nonfiction books and recording their "steps" (15 minute blocks of reading time). Shortly, on October 23rd, at-home reading will be a nightly expectation and we need your help to record one step each night. Harding is offering information on our ARC program. Please view the pictures below for dates and times. If you have additional questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Communication is Key
At Harding Elementary, we strive to stay connected with families through a variety of resources. Here are a few tips for the school year.
- Make sure phone numbers and email addresses are up to date. The forms to do this will be sent during the first week of school. You may also contact our school office to update information.
- Be sure to have the Seesaw Class app downloaded onto your smartphone (picture shown). The app can connect you to teachers and office staff. Specific class codes are shared by the teachers.
