This is Room 15's "new and improved" Monthly Newsletter. On our classroom website , the newsletters will be stored for your convenience to refer back to throughout the month. This page will have the latest information for you about the upcoming month.
Academic Updates
Math
Math Unit 2 - Multiplication and Division is beginning next week - Focusing on number of items in a group
Math Unit 1 - We will continue to review addition, subtraction, place value, rounding and graphing.
English Language Arts
- ELA Unit 3 - Nonfiction text (Animals, Plants, Habitats) - Finding the main idea, supporting it with text evidence.
Writing
- Informational paragraphs with supporting evidence from the text.
Science
- Animal habitats, fossils, and changes
What to do at home?
20 minutes of reading
With the revised homework policy, the only required homework is that every night your child reads (at least) 20 minutes.
ALTERNATIVE HW IDEAS
Some ideas:
-Bake a cake for someone.
-Pick up someone else's litter.
-Grow something that you can eat.
-Hand write a letter to someone special.
-Write a list of things you would like to accomplish by the time you are eighteen.
-Do a household chore without being asked.
-Talk to an older relative about your family history.
-Tell someone how much they mean to you.
-Sort out what you don't need and give it to charity.

Study Math Facts
It is never to early to start studying multiplication math facts. In third grade, students are expected to master multiplication and division facts 0-10 by the end of the year. Click Here for:

- Kleenex
- Mr. Sketch Markers
- Scotch lamination pouches 8.5 x 11 (.3 m)
- Colored Paper
- If students would like to bring their own headphones from home they are welcome to, this is not required
