Family Connections
A message from our Executive Director of Special Services, Dr. Staley
Greetings everyone! Spring is in the air!
It is hard to believe that March is already here. It won’t be long before the warm weather arrives. As you are aware, home-to-school communication is an important factor in your child’s success in school.
HELP YOUR CHILD SUCCEED
- Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.
- Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before.
- Do not let your child stay home unless she is truly sick. Keep in mind complaints of a stomach ache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and not a reason to stay home.
- If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to teachers, or school counselors for advice on how to make your child feel comfortable and excited about learning.
- Develop back-up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor, or another parent
- Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session.
All your efforts and parental involvement is a direct correlation to your child’s success, so again, we say THANK YOU! We continue to seek your support and assistance with reminding your child of their role and responsibilities while in school: Come to school prepared to learn, follow CCISD school rules, and ALWAYS remain Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. Let’s continue to do our best!!

We’re thrilled to announce that March 4-8, 2024 is designated as Educational Diagnosticians Week in Texas! Clear Creek ISD is proud to have 36 invaluable Educational Diagnosticians serving our students, staff, families, and community.
Educational Diagnosticians play a crucial role in ensuring every child receives the support and resources they need to thrive academically and beyond. They are dedicated professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to assess students, identify learning needs, and collaborate with educators and families to develop personalized education plans.
During this special week, we invite you to join us in expressing gratitude to these remarkable individuals for their unwavering commitment to our students’ success. Please click here to send a message of thanks to your child's/school’s Educational Diagnostician.
When Educational Promises are too Good to be True
When a child struggles to read, parents and educators want to do everything possible to help that child keep up with his or her peers and be successful in school. But as much as we want that to happen overnight, that is not how it usually works. It can take years of hard work, even with the best teachers and instruction. Unfortunately, some organizations or individuals may take advantage of parents when they are most vulnerable by making exaggerated claims or false guarantees based on “pseudo-science.” This fact sheet provides guidance in learning to critically evaluate programs, avoid scams, and move forward toward providing instruction that will truly help the children who need it.
