OHS Eagle News
Week of March 17, 2024
A Message from our Principal, Mr. Pflugrath...
Dear Osbourn Family,
I hope this message finds you all safe and well. This is the last week of the third quarter. As we close in on Spring Break, I am excited about the opportunity our students will have to step away from the building and have some time to just relax. Spring Break starts Saturday, March 23rd and students return to school on Tuesday, April 2nd.
Prior to stepping away however, I ask that we all ensure that students have touched base with their teachers and have a firm understanding of what is due, or what needs to be turned in so their grades are current. We will be at the end of the year before we know it and so it is imperative that students are knowledgeable about where their understanding of the material lies. If you have any concerns, please reach out to our teachers as well.
This week is also our Spring Spirit Week which culminates with our Pep Rally on Friday. We will conduct our annual tornado drill this week as well. Looking ahead, make sure to mark your calendar for our end of course SOL tests on May 13th to May 17th. Please limit your travel and appointments during that time. We want all of our Eagles here and doing their best. We will send out a more detailed testing schedule in the upcoming newsletters. Prom is also approaching quickly on Friday, April 12th. Ticket information was shared in Schoology. Please also consider signing up for our After-Prom event, organized by our amazing parents.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
#OneOsbourn!
Sincerely,
Mike Pflugrath

Documentation of the vaccine may be sent to school with your student.

OHS has achieved ASE Training Program Accreditation!
Great news! Osbourn H.S has achieved ASE Training Program accreditation by the ASE Education Foundation in the areas of Maintenance & Light Repair!
Our program was evaluated according to strict standards set by the automotive industry. We were evaluated by the ASE Education Foundation in all areas from our facilities to the number of instructional hours. Our Automotive Technician Training Program skilled instructors and the latest tools and equipment. Now, more than ever, our graduates will be prepared to enter productive entry-level positions.
We are proud of this coveted recognition and our ability to produce competent technicians and employable students so desperately needed by the automotive industry. Thank you for your support.
Tardy Sweeps!
Being on time is essential to creating a positive learning environment and minimizing distraction. Osbourn High School will continue with random tardy sweeps.
Students who are identified as repeat offenders of our attendance-related expectations will be assigned detention. Administrative interventions will increase for those who continue to not meet our expectations which are in place to ensure the safety and security of all of our students and staff. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and support with our efforts to optimize teaching and learning at Osbourn High School. Please discuss with your student(s) the importance of arriving to each class on-time.

PTSA News
PTSA After Prom
Help your OHS PTSA create a fun and safe experience for our students to enjoy after the OHS Prom in April 2024.
Statistics show that Prom/Graduation time can be one of the most dangerous times for teens. The OHS After Prom will provide a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment for our teens to enjoy a memorable night.
Over 300 students are expected to participate. We would like to offer this event for free so they can enjoy a night of fun and entertainment with activities, music, and food. We made it happen in 2023 and can do it again with your support.
