Week 2 - Clothing Drive for "Poised for Success" and the "Clothes Closet"
Poised For Success is a non-profit organization serving the suburban Chicagoland area. Their mission is to provide, at no charge, interview and business appropriate clothing to women in the job market. In addition to providing business-appropriate clothing, our volunteers assist clients in building self-esteem and interview skills, as well as referrals to other local service organizations providing job-skills training and job placement. These services give their clients the self-confidence necessary to secure a job and move beyond the need for financial assistance.
First United Methodist Church serves over 250 needy and homeless people in Lombard and Villa Park and Oakbrook Terrace.
They accept donations of children's, men's and women's clothes.
They are open and accept donations on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am. to noon.
Their clients are so appreciative of all the clothes they are able to provide them.
New items like underwear and socks go fast.
