PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Schnell Families,
It's hard to believe we are down to the last five weeks of the school year. Yet, we still have lots of events to look forward to. One of our culminating events of the year will be our annual Field Day. We always appreciate volunteers for the event so please watch for more information on how you can help. Keep in mind you will need to be fingerprinted in order to assist so please get that done if you think you're able to help.
Have a great weekend!
John A. Baker, MS. Ed.
Principal
Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!
Congratulations to our Bobcats who participated in the Young American Poetry Digest contest! The following poems were selected for publication in the 2024 book! Way to go Bobcats!
Mark your calendar for February/March if your child wants to write a poem for next year's contest.
Living History Donations Needed
5th grade students will be participating in our annual Living History program mid May and could use a little help putting together a trade store. If you're able to donate any of the following, it would be greatly appreciated.
Candy: licorice whips, jaw breakers (especially the big ones), giant pickles, saltwater taffy, homemade cookies (or store bought that look olden-time), chocolate chunks, rock candy, fudge, candy sticks, and horehound
Non edible items: large feathers, leather lacing, string, buttons (wooden, bone, metal, or stone - no plastic), cloth or lace handkerchiefs, wooden tops, arrowheads, or rabbit's foot
And, any other vintage candy or items you can think of. Keep in mind the trade store will have items that were sold before plastic was invented and will be in "barrels" and "candy jars", just as they did in the 1850s; so no plastic.
Thank you in advance for any donation!
