Music in Our Schools Month
Happy Music in Our Schools Month! The Music department has a calendar full of events this month including concerts and festivals. The first two MIOSM Month concerts were held earlier this month which featured the 5-12 Strings and the 5-12 Bands. We have two more concerts coming up which will feature the Pierce Middle School and High School Chorus groups on Monday, March 18th and Tuesday, March 19th at 6:30 PM in the MHS Auditorium.
Last weekend, three of our MHS students were selected to participate in the MMEA Eastern Junior District Festival as a result of their successful auditions back in January. Chloe Bergeron and Sebastian Gobbi participated in the concert band, and Nate Turner participated in the Jazz Ensemble.
Several students are representing MHS at the Sr. SEMSBA Music Festival this weekend. These students prepared an audition piece and were selected to participate in the honor ensembles from students across South East Massachusetts based on their auditions in February. They then prepared selections of music on their own and rehearsed for a full day with their ensembles on Friday 3/15 to prepare for performances on Saturday 3/16. We're very proud of the accomplishments of these students and know they are making Milton proud! Participating students: Charlie Baltay, Chloe Bergeron, Emily Bohlin, Camille Donovan, Celia Frank-McKnight, Malcolm Frank-McKnight, Colin Glazer, Niamh Guilderson, Nora Hegarty, Kelly Le, Lucie Lloyd-Farber, James Malec, Liam Manares, Fedor Myshkin, Sofie Profit, Layla Raymond, Nate Turner, and Melina Zullas.

MHS Students Visit Accurounds in Avon
Accurounds is a company that works creating precision manufacturing and engineering. Students interested in Robotics went and really liked talking to the people that worked there. There were people that were mechanical engineers, worked in HR, worked in quality control, and mechanics. They also enjoyed seeing the robotics in action. The staff were welcoming and always willing to answer whatever questions the student had.
The field trip was a product of Milton High School's decades long partnership with School to Careers, who brings together work based connecting activities to our students.
Innovative Pathways-Schools to Careers
Innovative Pathways allow students early insight to careers that suit their interests and abilities and encourage paths that they may not otherwise have discovered. Our partners, School to Careers and MassHire, provide Milton students opportunities to forge these discoveries. Both will help connect students with local employers in specific industries for our Internship Program and help to offer real life work experiences for our students in our Career Readiness class.

World Down Syndrome Day
3/21 is World Down Syndrome Day! Every year, on March 21, people all around the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. March 21 is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. This day provides the opportunity to celebrate people with Down syndrome and all the wonderful contributions they make to society. The point of wearing the silly socks is as a conversation starter for people to ask questions and to remind them that while things may be different they are still wonderful. Join us and Rock Your Socks to promote awareness and acceptance of Down syndrome!
Screenagers - At Home Viewing

This film is a must see for families with teens and pre-teens. It shows an intimate portrayal of young people struggling with depression and anxiety, in ways that are very relatable.
