EARTH DAY: SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT IS DUE APRIL 22
Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2022 is Invest in Our Planet.
Part of our Science TEKS curriculum is for students to learn about sustainability such as reduce, reuse, and recycle for our environment. Your child is invited to participate in a Sustainability Challenge. You will upcycle something useful for another purpose.

SOCIO EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL)
This month we are talking about Responsibility! The dictionary talks about Responsibility in a few ways: duty, accountability, and the independence to make decisions. We are using a slightly different definition at school. Click on the links below to view more information and activities for the family!

REMINDERS FOR OUR CROCKETT FAMILIES:
MATH CORNER: Math Fact Fluency
Math fact fluency is the ability to quickly recall addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division math facts through conceptual learning, fact strategies, and memorization.
Math fluency is important because it…
- contributes to students’ ability to solve more difficult problems quicker and more accurately.
- leads to success in students’ future mathematics courses and careers.
- builds confidence in students’ math ability.
This year, each grade level has made a commitment to a set of facts. We look forward to working together to ensure mastery of our math fact commitments!
