Message from Dr. Ramirez
I am excited to report that we are holding our Homecoming Week from Thursday, October 27 through Saturday, October 30th, with a culminating Homecoming Festival at CRHS's Senior Quad (grassy area behind) from 6:00-9:00 on the 30th. Our student council is planning the events and they will share details soon. To assist with this event, I am seeking parent volunteers for this and other students activities we will have for the week, as well as for other school events. If you are interested, please complete this survey and we will get back to you. In order to qualify, you must be listed as a parent or guardian in PowerSchool.
I want to share an article with you that I found extremely pertinent to current parents of high school students. As a father of five high school graduates, I would have enjoyed knowing some of the contents of this article to help me understand and remind me of the developmental stages our kids go through. I hope enjoy this friendly read.
I hope you all have a fantastic week!
Best,
Dr. Ramirez
Sincerely,
Dr. Ramirez

Hello Cedar Ridge Families:
The PTSO Mini Grant Committee is in the midst of considering several worthy Mini Grant applications. A few examples include various books (including book club titles) for the English Department, new Spanish language books for the IB Spanish and IB Spanish Literature classes, and some new lighting for the Theater Department.
We would love to fund as many Mini Grants as possible, but we need your help!
Please consider donating to the PTSO Mini Grant Fund by clicking on the following link: http://crhsptso.weebly.com/
No amount is too small! Thank you for your consideration and continued support.
Best regards,

Message re: Tik Tok from OCS Administration
Dear Cedar Ridge families,
The safety of everyone who enters our school and district buildings remains a priority. It has come to our attention that there is a social media challenge proposed on TikTok encouraging students to “slap a teacher” in October. No social media challenges will be tolerated while on school grounds, especially ones that involve physical contact with others.
Our Administration Team has instructed all school staff and School Resource Officers to be vigilant for anyone attempting this or any other challenge. Additionally, any reports of this behavior will be reviewed on our district monitoring system, saved, and shared with local law enforcement when appropriate.
As a reminder, one of the student responsibilities explained in the OCS Community Code of Conduct, Character, and Support ensures all students are provided an education in a safe, caring, equitable, and supportive learning environment. The Code provides tools for ensuring that all stakeholders understand and appreciate the expectations of behavior within the school community. Each student’s achievement is important to the entire staff at Cedar Ridge and we would hate to see mistakes like these become a distraction for students on their paths to success.
Please join me in reminding your children to think before they act. A few seconds of a TikTok video is not worth consequences that may jeopardize their future. This proposed challenge violates our standards for behavior and for learning in our school. We recognize that the vast majority of our students are respectful and would never consider this behavior. We encourage our entire community to work together to support our students and teachers to feel safe in our learning environment.
Thank you for your continued support,
Dr. Carlos Ramirez

SUBJECT: School Safety Expectations
Dr. Carlos Ramirez
