Welcome to the Prairie Point Panther Press!
Principal's Message
Prairie Point Families:
With Labor Day behind us and cooler days, it sure feels like fall is starting. I am hopeful that most families have found a routine and comfort level with the remote learning plans. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher if you are still experiencing tech issues or have difficulty accessing any of the learning materials. I am happy to move back to our traditional Panther Press format and include more community resources, information and input. I will still add a weekly principal message, however, I also have invited others to contribute as well.
I enjoyed seeing so many K - 5th grade families this week during materials pick up. We were thrilled to send home more materials for learning, including special art books that were created for all students. If you were unable to come to school this week to pick up your child’s second material bag, please call the main office and set up a time to stop at school to pick it up.
Brokaw Early Learning Center will be distributing a second round of materials for our early childhood students. This pick up will take place at Brokaw on September 21st and 22nd between 2:30 - 5:30pm. Please reach out to your child’s early childhood teacher if you have any questions.
As we continue to move through the school year, I would like to encourage our families to keep in contact with us and continue to communicate any needs that your child or family may have. We have a wonderful support team here at Prairie Point and many resources to offer our students and families. I am happy to welcome two new social workers and a new psychologist to our team this year. Our new social workers are Ms. Sowa and Mrs. Snydersmith. Mrs. Snydersmith will be working primarily with our early childhood, kindergarten and 1st grade students. Ms. Sowa is supporting our second - fifth grade students at Prairie Point. Ms. Sowa and Mrs. Snydersmith work with students who have social work support through special education. They are also available to support students who might benefit from social work intervention. Please do not hesitate to reach out directly to Ms. Sowa or Mrs. Snydersmith. You may also speak to the classroom teacher to request or discuss the need for social work intervention. We are also happy to welcome a new psychologist to our team this year. Mrs. Robuck is new to Prairie Point, however, has worked in SD308, most recently at Traughber Junior High. Mrs. Robuck works to support students through both special education and MTSS (multi-tiered systems of support). Mrs. Robuck leads our problem solving team, charged with finding interventions or instructional strategies to support students who may be struggling academically or social emotionally.
One final resource that I would like to make you aware of is our Care Closet. Our support team, along with Nurse Dominique maintain a Care Closet here at Prairie Point. This space is filled with school supplies, clothing and toiletries. Do not hesitate to reach out to anyone on our support team, including Mrs. Fahey or me. We will be sharing more information about our Care Closet in the next few weeks.
As always, Mrs. Fahey and I are here should you have any questions or ideas to share. You are able to reach us via email or phone. We’d love to hear from you!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer Groves
Principal

Prairie Point Elementary's Home and School Board is changing from Membership Toolkit to Konstella!
Unfortunately, with everything that has been going on, your Home and School Board has decided to change our school management software again. This decision did not come lightly to us. We did not want to change to a new software again, when you just signed up for Membership Toolkit, but we needed to make a change for the better. This decision impacts our finances as well as how we manage the events. We think it will be easier for all. Please follow the link below to begin the new sign in. Thank you again for being so cooperative with us.
