Science
Hi Families!
This past week we explored the life of multicellular and unicellular organisms! Students participated in a microscope lab to look at plant and animal cells. We even had the chance to observe our own cheek cells under the microscope! As the week progressed we shifted our focus from multicellular to unicellular organisms through a WebQuest. Next week, we will wrap up our WebQuest, which will be due by Tuesday, and work through extension activities, such as Genetic Turkeys!
Here's next week at a glance!
Monday: Tic-Tac-Toe Cell Activities and Re-Do Work
Tuesday: Genetic Turkeys and Re-Do Work
Social Studies
We spent this week learning about governments in the colonies and their English roots. We also looked at the Great Awakening and how it influenced the idea of self-government, challenging society's norms, and opened the ideas to becoming an independent nation. Next week, students will be given opportunities to improve their overall grade by completing extra practice to prepare for re-test after Thanksgiving Break. Students who have 79% or higher on assessments will participate in the Mercantilism game.
Monday: Improve your grades on assessments or Mercantilism Game
Tuesday: Improve your grades on assessments or Mercantilism Game
After break, Social Studies classes will be moving on to Chapter 5 on TCI called Toward Independence. This chapter will focus on the events that lead to the American Revolution.
