Westwood Families,
The end of the trimester is Thursday. Student work and test retakes are due on Thursday, March 10. Report cards will be posted in Campus Parent Portal on March 25 at the end of the day.
We are looking forward to the start of the third trimester with the long-anticipated trial of Goldilocks and the Three bears. Sixth grade students working with Ms. West are in the final stages of preparing for a mock trial of The Bears v. Goldilocks on Tuesday, March 22.
Students have been busy preparing for the trial by taking on the roles of prosecution and defense attorneys, Goldilocks, the Bear family, and other witnesses, and other roles. Student attorneys created direct- and cross-examination questions and worked to prep their witnesses. Along the way, they’ve worked with two community experts, Karen Schommer, a judge, and Matt Schommer, a federal agent. Ms. Schommer will preside as judge.
Also on March 22, I will be hosting a parent meeting at Westwood on the use of Schoology. Please join us for coffee and conversation, 9-9:45 a.m. in the Westwood Den.
Spring Break arrives Friday, March 11 through Monday, March 21. We will see all of our students back at school on Tuesday, March 22. We hope each of you have a wonderful Spring Break – with spring weather!

Lost & Found, last call!
Westwood's lost and found table in the cafeteria has grown in the past few months. We have a large number of sweatshirts, jackets, hats, lunch boxes, water bottles, etc. that are still waiting to be claimed. Please remind your students to look for their missing items as soon as possible. Items that are not claimed by the start of our Spring Break on March 11 will be donated.
