Is it spring yet?!
Math
Time is definitely starting to fly by! Next Tuesday we will be finishing up our Geometry Unit. The focus for this unit has been learning about polygons, quadrilaterals, parallelograms, congruent figures, and the attributes of three dimensional figures. Monday we will review and Tuesday students will have their unit test. Wednesday we begin our final unit before STAAR. This last unit will be measurement, then we will spend the rest of our time reviewing!
Next Thursday students will also have a formative assessment that will serve as another checkpoint. This will allow us to see if some of the missed areas have improved and where we need to relocate our target areas. Reading will also have a checkpoint for this reason, but theirs will be on Wednesday.
Multiplication Quizzes
We will continue to have or mixed multiplication quizzes every Friday as students work towards getting their multiplication license. Our classroom goal is for everyone to have their license by the time STAAR gets here so that we can have our movie party the day after.
Homework
Science
We will finish our unit on inherited traits, learned behaviors and life cycles this week. Next week we will begin our unit on "Investigating Structures and Functions of Organisms". During this unit students will revisit life cycles, but will also learn about animal classifications and animal adaptations.
