Quick Tip: Outlook Calendar is your friend…
With our super hectic and busy schedules it can sometimes be difficult to keep our day organized and carve out time for all that needs to be done in a given day. We encourage you to utilize the calendar tool in Outlook to take on this challenge. It is especially helpful for planning meetings with others — whether they are in your building or from outside your building — as Outlook’s Scheduling Assistant allows you to see blocks of their day that are busy or free. Check out this video for a two-minute tutorial. For your awareness, Amy Bates uses your Outlook calendar to send invites for our visits with you.
Hello, cold weather!
With cold weather on the horizon here is a quick reminder about recess practices from our Administrative Practices & Procedures: When temperatures are 32 degrees F or below and/or wind chill factor is 15 degrees F or below, there is an increased chance for hypothermia and frostbite. Students should be encouraged to wear layered clothing and limit exposure to outdoor temperatures, including recess and/or physical education. No outdoor recess is allowed when temperature and/or wind chill is equal to or below 29 degrees. If outdoor temperature and/or wind chill is 30-32 degrees F, students may be outdoors for no longer than 10 minutes wearing appropriately layered clothing, i.e. coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. For additional information, contact Health Services (523-1630).

From Christine Jones-
Hello Principals, Blended Learning, Learning and Learning Support teams!
I am excited to share that the 12 Days of Innovation grants are back for the 2019-2020 school year! This award is based off a nomination process to acknowledge teachers who are exemplifying Engaging, Relevant and Personal instruction in their classroom or teachers who have shown growth in their own learning that you want to recognize and encourage.
Starting TODAY, the process will open for you to nominate a teacher in your school(s). If awarded, the nominated teacher could win $500 to use in their classroom. Nominations can be made through the google form linked below and the nomination window will close November 13th at 5 p.m.
Awards will be announced starting December 3rd on Twitter through @officialSPS.
