ELM MIDDLE SCHOOL’S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
December 9, 2022
Principal's Message
Greetings Elm Families,
We hope everyone had a wonderful week. First and foremost, a huge congratulations to our Band and Choir students for their amazing performance this week. Additionally, thank you to our entire Elm community for coming out and showing your support to our music program. Your hard work most certainly paid off, and it was so wonderful to see you in action!
Furthermore our students have been diving into hands-on experiential learning in their classes. Ms. Fuentes Accelerated English class is setting the stage for their Shakespeare unit by building models of the Globe Theater. This Principal is certainly looking forward to being a judge to see who has the best model next week.
As a reminder course selections for the 23-24 school year close on December 24th. Please make sure your student had their course selections filled out in PowerSchool!
Please take a few minutes to read through this week’s Cougar Courier. As always, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. Have a fabulous weekend! #TeamElmStrong
Most Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Groeneveld

Good afternoon Elm family,
In our efforts to assist students with their academics, we looking to expand our homework club with options for peer tutoring and course specific assistance. If you would like your student to receive help after school to reinforce the skills taught in class, redo work, or retake examinations, please inform me, and I will ensure that your student gets there each day.
Thank you all for your continued support in our efforts to improve the academic performance of our students.
Go Cougars!

Monday Plan:
As we enter the cold weather months, we wanted to provide our student-athletes with the option of staying at school prior to Monday practices. Students will be allowed to remain in the cafeteria after the bus riders are released for the day. A combination of staff will be utilized to supervise the students.
Parents, please reiterate to your student-athletes that they must have academic work to accomplish during this time and failure to display appropriate behavior in the cafeteria will result in loss of participation privileges.
