Minnie Howie the Roaming Gnome Award goes to... Ms. Rose Henderson!!!
Mr. McGhee writes... The roaming gnome award goes to Ms. Rose Henderson. Ms. Henderson deserves this award because she is a very hard working person and always pleasant.
Thank you Ms. Henderson for being AWESOME!!!
If you were wondering...
What is the Minnie Howie Roaming Gnome Award?
This award gives us another way to recognize and celebrate each other. Minnie Howie is passed on from person to person each week.
What do you do when you receive the Minnie Howie Roaming Gnome Award?
Prominently display the award in your classroom or office. You can even brag a bit and carry Minnie Howie with you when you travel the building.
When and how do you pass Minnie Howie to the next awesome colleague?
At the end of the week, write up a short celebration blurb in which you name the next awardee and share a few things about him/her that you want to recognize and share. Send the blurb to Ms Wood for her Sunday "Week-at-a-Glance." On Monday morning, deliver Minnie Howie to the awardee.
And the cycle continues...
Brought to you by Titans Succeed / Renaissance Committee in appreciation of all that you do to make this a great place to work and learn.
Ms. Riser
Ms. Riser's display of redactive poetry in the library is really cool. I recommend you check it out, if you haven't already. I'm excited to have my students do this next year. Thanks for the great idea!

TIS Information May 22nd:
Gradebook REMINDER:
Please hold off on recalculating final grades if you haven't already done so as it appears that the NRs have not been completely removed from the gradebook. If you have already completed the recalculation process, you do not need to undo anything, but you will have to repeat the process once this has been remedied by Tech Services. Thank you to the teachers that alerted us to this issue. I am sorry for the inconvenience and will update you as we learn more.
APP-SMASHING for SOL REVIEW:
Thinking of ways to support your students for final exam and SOL review when they are outside of class? Try app-smashing a virtual whiteboard, like AwwApp or SketchPad, with a screen recorder, like Screencasitfy or WeVideo, to make short recordings of step-by-step instructions or important review material. You can upload these recordings for your students to watch outside of class. App-smashing allows you to take the best features of each app to produce a great product for your students. Want to learn more? Email tctis@acps.k12.va.us or stop by during our office hours this week.

Give out Student Letters During First Block: l
This is a personalized testing schedule for each student, a letter explaining the expectations for the last four weeks of school, and the end of year calendar. If a student does not receive a schedule or thinks there is a mistake, please direct them to me in room 208.
Student Assemblies:
Tuesday, May 23rd, to explain end of year expectations.
It is important that students get the schedules before the assemblies.
REVIEW the End of Year Calendar in Mailboxes with Students:
Please make an effort to talk to your students about the schedule changes that will take place for SOL testing and exams.
This is their first time participating in SOL's where the schedule is modified with the late starts for non-testing students and their first time taking exams. It will probably be confusing for them so the more they hear it, the better.
