Our new schedule this year makes attendance crucial for students' academic success, and it's extremely important they attend bell to bell. We are seeing a number of students in the building, but not attending their whole classes. We want to remind you that we have multiple codes for attendance:
Arriving to class marked VL (very late)
Leaving early without permission, or asking to leave early for another reason
Missing class entirely
As you look at your student’s attendance in ParentView please ask your student about any attendance codes that may be coming up. If you need help signing up for ParentVue please do not hesitate to call Sheldon High School and we can help set that up for you.

A large cast, non-stop laughs and explosive dance numbers combine to make Mamma Mia! a guaranteed smash hit for any theatre. A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week is the first full week of May! If you are interested in helping, we are making goodie bags for the teachers. We have 88 licensed staff members that will be honored on Wednesday May 8th. If you are interested in helping make this day special, I have created an Amazon list with little things to make people smile, along with a couple of larger things that I know would be appreciated. If you have questions, or would like to bring something else, please contact Alicia Martin (martin_al@4j.lane.edu).
Want to Volunteer?
Let's bring volunteers back to the high school level. If you are interested in volunteering your time, creativity or resources, please reach out to Alicia (martin_al@4j.lane.edu). Some of the volunteer opportunities are, Tutoring, Counselor Appreciation, Teacher Appreciation, etc... New opportunities will pop up all year long and we would love to have a list of people who are willing to help out our school.
If you are interested in helping within the school, please fill out the volunteer background check.

Bike Theft
Given the prevalence of bike theft in our community, we encourage you to follow these tips to reduce the risk of bike theft:
- Always lock your bike, even if you're just leaving it for a minute.
- Lock to something secure, not something like a chain link fence that is easy to cut through.
- Do not leave your bike locked at school overnight.
- Lock with a U-lock, not a cable lock.
- Lock the bike through one of the triangles of the frame, not through the wheel, as that can easily be removed.
----
