A.L.I.C.E
In Guidance we will be spending time talking about A.L.I.C.E. This has begun by reading a story to introduce A.L.I.C.E. which is a protocol we follow when there is a danger at the school. A.L.I.C.E. stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate. The story “I’m Not Scared… I’m Prepared! Because I know All About ALICE” helps students prepare for when Office Justin Witt, our Resource Officer comes to school to train them on what to do in response to a danger. We want students to be safe at all times and the best way to be safe is to always be prepared. Here are some wonderful tips so that we all stay safe:
Following the directions the first time. Not standing around asking, “But why?”.
STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN to announcements at the time they are given.
Evacuation is always the best defense if the information indicates it is safe to do so.
Education and empowerment are the keys to preparation and relieving fear.
