February 2019 Events & Information
We are recognizing and celebrating our 100th day of the 2018-2019 academic year on Friday
February 1, 2019!
The Character Trait of the month of February is KINDNESS for our elementary students, and our IB Learner Profile Attribute is THINKERS for our middle school students.
Nominated students that exhibit the character traits and attributes of the month will be recognized at our ceremony on Tuesday February 26 at 8:45-9:30am.
Families of students being recognized will be notified by invitation.
Yearbook ads are a great way to celebrate the success, milestones and to reflect on the person your 8th grade student has become. Please visit www.jostensadservices.com to create your recognition ad today before the extension deadline ends on Saturday, February 2.
Attendance Matters
Student attendance counts every day and during FTE and Spirit Week this is especially true. We are striving for 100% attendance for all students during the week of Monday February 4 - Friday February 8.
Student attendance this week is key to funding for our school. It means for each student missing school all or most of the week, our school will lose between about $4,000 and $20,000 in state funding. With this in mind, there is one thing we can all do to help ensure that our school receives all of our entitled state funding – please send your child to school at least 4 out of 5 days during FTE and Spirit Week.
Additionally, if your child rides the school bus to and/or from school, we ask that you have them ride the bus during this week as school funding is impacted by student transportation as well.
Students are encouraged to collect 'Pennies For Patients' from Monday February 4 until Friday February 15.
Thank you for being part of our Hero Squad.
You are invited to join in support of our middle school Bulldog athletes, as they strive for success during our 2018-2019 football season!
Student Q3 interim report cards will be sent electronically to all our K-8 families on Tuesday February 12.
For your child to participate in the Art Night , families can pay by check ,money-order or with any major credit card when entering the event. $5 participation checks or money-orders should be made payable to Franklin Academy.
