Walker Bulldog News
October 23, 2020
Dear Families,
It has been another wonderful week here at Walker. Our students are engaged in their lessons, and we couldn't be prouder of their attendance and efforts. Hats off to our staff as they continue to craft innovative and engaging lessons.
We are excited to announce some fun events for next week. Monday starts our first spirit week of the year. Also, as we get into the Halloween spirit, we will be hosting a virtual pumpkin decorating contest for families and staff. Please see our pumpkin decorating contest details below.
It looks like we are in store for a chilly weekend; consider watching a fun, Halloween themed movie. If you are interested in some fun family movies, check out the link below.

Help Illinois Families
The Pritzker Administration, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), has launched a new initiative to help Illinois families access and afford home energy assistance and other essential services during COVID-19. Building on the State’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program, the State’s Fiscal Year 2021 (FY 21) budget authorizes an expansion of the LIHEAP and CSBG programs for eligible Illinoisans seeking emergency assistance to cover costs of utility bills, rent, temporary shelter, food, and other household necessities.
