Stevens Scribbles
Rolland-Warner Families,
I am truly going to attempt to keep this newsletter brief and to the point as I know a ton of information has been sent out in the last month. Here are the most important bullets:
- A schedule of the next week is below
- Students MUST bring the Checked Out Chromebook/charger from the school DAILY (may leave in media center overnight if desired).
- We are requesting all students bring electronic devices/charger if they have (we are attempting to be one-to-one at RW)
- Please don't forget to fill out free/reduced lunch form by Sept 30 (http://food.lapeerschools.org/Login.aspx)
- Students need to bring water bottles.
- Students may bring and carry backpacks. Lockers will be utilized.

Student Daily Self-Screening
Should the student exhibit any of the COVID-19 symptoms while at the school they will be isolated and parents must come pick up the student and follow the procedures laid out in the LCS COVID-19 Preparedness & Response Student Procedures.

Updated RW FAQ
Masks Required
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND:
- Try wearing the mask at home first! Some masks are just more comfortable than others, have the students try the masks at home. The first day is going to be a long day and you don't want to wear a mask that hurts your ears all day!
- Sending multiple masks. As the masks get moist from our breathing, the student may feel much better with a new dry mask!
- Send facial wipes in student's backpack. Even with our air conditioning, wearing a mask will cause student's to sweat. Certainly not the end of the world, however, using a facial wipe in the middle of the day maybe just what the student needs to feel fresh again.
Virtual Bookfair!!!

Fall Sports Update
Students participating in athletics must meet the standard of passing all classes six (6) classes OR passing at least five (5) high school classes or middle school classes AND maintaining at least a current term 2.0 G.P.A.
All athletes involved in a sport will have a grade check at the end of the fourth week of the semester. Athletes who fail to meet the above-mentioned standard will be placed on Academic Probation for the remainder of the term. Academic Probation consists of two levels:
Level One: Eligible with Progress Report
Level Two: Ineligible with Progress Report
Periodic checks throughout the term may result in additional athletes being placed on Academic Probation during the term.
Level One: Eligible with Progress Report
After the four-week time period, the student-athlete will be subject to a weekly progress report that governs participation in athletic competition the following week (Monday – Sunday) for:
ü Passing all six (6) classes but G.P.A. is below a 2.0
If at the end of the week, the athlete is meeting the previously mentioned standard, he/she is eligible but will still be required to submit a weekly progress report.
If at the end of the week, the athlete is not meeting the previously mentioned standard, he/she is ineligible and will still be required to submit a weekly progress report and moves to Level Two.
Level Two: Ineligible with Progress Report
After the four-week time period, the student-athlete will be subject to a weekly progress report that governs participation in athletic competition the following week (Monday – Sunday) for:
ü Failing more than one (1) class
ü Failing one (1) class AND G.P.A. is below a 2.0
If at the end of the week the athlete is meeting the minimum academic standard, he/she is eligible but will still be required to submit a weekly progress report.
If at the end of the week the athlete is not meeting the minimum academic standard, he/she remains ineligible and will still be required to submit a weekly progress report.
During this period of ineligibility (up to three consecutive weeks), the athlete is expected to practice and attend contests or scrimmages; however, he/she may NOT participate in the contests or scrimmages and may NOT dress in the team uniform.
