Girls on the Run
Sign up for Girls on the Run!
"Calling all Solon 3rd-5th grade families! Don’t miss your chance to sign up for Girls on the Run this spring. This program is so much more than running! The 10-week GOTR curriculum revolves around social-emotional learning and all lessons are taught through a variety of fun, movement-based activities.
The Iowa City-area will also have three Heart & Sole teams, open for 6th graders only! This 10-week program allows participants to explore all parts of their Girl Wheel (heart, brain, spirit, body, and social self). Heart & Sole is intended to support kiddos transitioning into middle school. These teams will meet Wednesdays from 5-7PM at three locations: Mercer Park, Coralville Recreation Center, and the North Liberty Community Center. Both seasons end in a celebratory 5K event!
The spring season starts the week of March 18th. Practices will be held Monday and Wednesday from 3:30-4:45PM at the Solon Recreation and Nature Area.Registration will remain open through March 18. If the minimum number of participants is not reached by this date then the program will be canceled. Full and partial scholarships are available. Learn more and sign up at www.girlsontheruniowa.org
ATTENTION: Girls on the Run of Eastern Iowa is excited to be offering Camp GOTR in Iowa City and North Liberty this summer! There will be both full-day and half-day camps offered. Registration is open! To learn more and register, visit our website."

LOOKING TO SHARPEN YOUR SOCCER SKILLS?
Now that it's almost Spring Break it's time to think of spring soccer! Solon FC is a local soccer organization dedicated to encouraging the love of soccer, building skills through excellent coaching and filling the gap between youth and high school soccer. We offer practices twice a week with coaches who are former Solon players. Practices consist of skill building and scrimmages. We have the Solon Middle School fields reserved starting after spring break every Tuesday and Thursday between 6-7:30 through the beginning of May. (Times may shift with daylight availability).
We also have the Spartan Stadium reserved on the afternoon of Sunday, May 5th for another fun 3v3 tournament, so mark your calendars now!
Please complete the attached form to let us know if you are interested in participating this Spring. Please pass along this email to anyone with players in grades 3-8 that you think would be interested in our program. Any questions can be sent to soloniafc@gmail.com
