Tuesday, March 05- Building Based PL
A reminder that we will be meeting this Tuesday, March 05 for our Building Based PL.
If you have yet to do so, please read the final assignment from Courageous Conversations: Condition #6- Let's Talk About Whiteness (Blue Cover- 187-214, Green Cover- 205-232) prior to our time together.
I am also asking that if you have not completed the Color-Line Excercise in the reading, please go into the text and complete the activity. Please take a moment to write down your total score in your text. You will need this information to participate in the discussion during our session on Tuesday.
Our work on Tuesday, will be discussion and learning focused around "Whiteness" and the concept of privilige. I have received very positive feedback from the Courageous Conversation sessions that were held this past Wednesday in grade level meetings specifically about the willingness of our staff to have difficult and powerful conversations around the concepts of privilege and white dominant culture. We are looking forward to continuing the conversations on Tuesday and our continued learning together. I continue to impressed by your commitment, efforts and hard work as we continue to build a culture of equity at JWMS!
Our session will begin at 1:30 and will end at 2:45. At 2:50, we will virtually join NHS and MK colleagues for Dr. Brummett's Virtual Budget Presentation to Secondary Faculty. Her presentation will end at 3:15.
I will send out information to sign-up for our session on Monday.

National School Social Work Week is a canvas to celebrate their profound impact a masterpiece of care, advocacy, and transformative influence, " said Dr. Terriyln Rivers-Cannon, Board President for the School Social Work Association of America.
