Driving Issues
An excerpt from Love and Logic
On average, about 6,000 teens die behind the wheel each year. By following the suggestions below, you can dramatically increase the odds that your teen will not contribute to these sad statistics:
· Offer your teen “good guy” auto insurance. This means that you pay the premium based on your teens maintaining a B average in school, achieving a flawless driving record, and in most states, having completed driver’s education. If your teen gets a ticket or declining grades, you can respond empathy, “This is such a drag. Your insurance is going to go up now. How do you think you’ll pay for the increase?”
· Don’t buy your teen a car unless they are an ultra-responsible, nose-to-the grindstone kid. Even if this is the case, the car you buy should be an old one.
· Remember that you have the right to restrict who rides with your teen an when your teen is driving.

Below is the video documentary that highlights Stockbridge High School’s FBLA and Inter-Club Council’s community service personalize learning trip to Houston Texas 1/4 thru 1/8/2018. One goal was to help victims of Hurricane Harvey retrieve documents lost in the storm. Another was to help Key Middle School students with digital literacy.
Thanks and appreciation is extended to the Offices of Vice Mayor Pro-Tem Jerry V Davis - District B and Mayor Sylvester Turner. Special thanks also goes to Mr. Bilal Khan, City of Houston, Director of Community Affairs and Director of Communications, Ms. Diana Cicago. Without their partnership this project would not have gone so incredible well.
The documentary also highlights our partnership with Francis Scott Key Middle School (a Title 1 School), in Houston to teach students digital coding and also to create a T-shirt enterprise business - the beginning of a student enterprise franchise. Credit is given to Dr. Paula Whatley Matabane, Professor Emeritus, Howard University Dept. of Radio and Television for video footage and Edwin “Alex” Garcia for additional video footage, editing and producing the film.
Be blessed!
