WHAT IS COMPOSTING ??
Compost is leftover food, plants, grass clippings, coffee grounds, dry leafs, straw, wood chips, sawdust, and newspaper that decay overtime and turns into new fertile soil. This will occur in the right temperature 140 degrees and with water. (in the compost bin). You will also need to add decomposers such as worms, fungi and beetles.
Why do we have to use water
Water helps speed up the process of composting, it needs to be as wet as a wet sponge.
Three fun facts
- Decomposers help break down the compost
- The organic matter shrinks over time.
- Plants grow out of the remains of the Decomposers.
